Harry James Plays Neal Hefti

Harry James Plays Neal Hefti MGM Stereo SE3972 is an exceptionally nice offering from the 1960s vintage James band. All 10 charts are by the great Neal Hefti. The players are: Harry Jeames, Rob Turk, Harold BIllings, Nick Buono and Verne Guertin - Trpts; Ray Sims, Dick Hyde, Dick McQuary - trombones; Willie Smith, Pat Chartrand, Sam Firmature, Modesto Briseno, Ernie Small - Saxs; Jack Perciful - piano; Terry Rosen - guitar; Tony De Nicola - drums; Russ Phillips - bass. Engineer: RAll Schmitt; recordist: Dave Hassinger; produced by Jesse Kaye. In the liner notes Hefti states that the whole album was done in one session that ran from 8pm to 4am. You gotta wonder what the AFM had say about that!! Enjoy:
Side one: Tweet Tweet; Chiarina; Harry, Not Jesse; The Creeper; Mr. Johnson.

Side two: Hot Pink; Sunday Morning; Koo Koo; Rainbow Kiss; Fountainebleau.
