Four Roses Big Band

Here's a real treat for lovers of fine big band swing. Four Roses Bourbon put out this album in 1961 featuring some great musicians from the big band era.

Arrangements are by Sy Oliver and Norman Leyden and the musicians are truly all stars.

Trumpets: Charlie Shavers, Jimmy Henderson, Bernie Glow, Doc Severinsen, Jimmy Nottingham

Trombones: Frank Sracco, Bobby Byrnek, Urbie Green, Eddie Bert, Dick Hixson

Saxes: Peanuts Hugo, Al Kink, Sam Marowitz, George Berg, Bernie Kaufman, Walt Levinsky

Piano: Buddy Weed; Guitar: Tommy Kay; Bass: Jack Lesberg; Drums Bobby Donaldson; bongos, Bobby Rosengarden.

Vocal group is not identified.

I found this in a pile of albums someone gave me years ago. I've cleaned it up and offer it for your enjoyment - with a glass of Four Roses over ice.

Tracks are: Do You Ever Think of Me, Moonlight Serenade (nice revision), Jada, Temptation, I'm in the Mood for Love, Hawaiian War Chant, Just You, ust Me, That Old Feeling, Darktown Strutters Ball, Love, Don't Blame Me, 720 in the Books.
